As a Social Studies major you will explore the richness of past cultures and their impact on today’s society. You will begin to uncover the culturally-grounded assumptions that have influenced the perception and behavior of people in the past and how those assumptions have shaped your own identity and behavior.
Through your course work, you will learn to effectively locate and analyze primary and secondary sources relevant to historical inquiry. You will research and present your own interpretations of the past in a variety of personal and professional contexts.
Your degree in Social Studies prepares you to teach secondary education when combined with our Master of Arts in Teaching 4.5 program.
